Daniel Found Praying

“Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God” Daniel 6:11.

If someone were to come upon us unexpectedly, what would they find us doing? With Daniel he was found supplicating. By contrast, just prior to Calvary, when the Lord Jesus returned from prayer to His disciples, He “Found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy” (Matt 26:43). On one occasion, the Lord Jesus told a parable where the lord set a wise servant ruler over his house to give them meat in due season. The Lord said, “Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing” (Matt 24:45-47). They were to be found serving. Peter, no doubt learning from this parable, wrote “Be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless” (2Pet 3:4). They were to be found spotless. Daniel was found supplicating. Where would we be found?
