Special Report
Uruguay
Tom Lutley writes from Trinidad, Uruguay: “We do have the meetings Sundays and Thursdays, but I thought I would mention a couple of special items for prayer. At the beginning of the year, over 100 gospel calendars with a page for each day were distributed to contacts. Now I am returning to visit and asking how the reading is going. Responses have been varied. Last year, the assemblies from Montevideo began a work in Durazno, 40 km. east of here. On three different weekends they had a special effort, and then started with Bible studies in December every other Tuesday. We got over several times, and recently I have been there twice for the studies. Please pray that the Lord will bless the seed sown.”

Homecalls
Barbara Robbins of Bear River East, NS, on March 15, 2023, two days short of her 91st birthday. Barbara, who was a school teacher, took early retirement to look after her aging parents and her brother who had Down’s Syndrome. She looked after them very well until they passed away. Barbara was saved as a young woman and was in happy fellowship in the Clementsvale, NS, assembly until she turned 90. Shortly thereafter, she went to live with her youngest sister and brother-in-law, where she received excellent care until her passing. They, along with her surviving brother, a sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews who respected her, will miss her caring ways. She was quiet but consistent in her testimony for the Lord. Please pray for her unsaved relatives who heard a clear gospel message at her funeral.
Joanne Raynor of Charlottetown, PE, on March 13, 2024, age 64. She was very faithful in attending assembly meetings. The funeral service was taken by Jonathan Procopio and the gospel was clearly presented to the large crowd. Joanne leaves to mourn her a sister and brother-in-law. Please pray for their salvation.
Lois Isabel (Griffin) McCullough of Terrace, BC, on May 11, 2024, age 97. Born March 27, 1927, she grew up amongst the farms and orchards of Westbank, BC, part of three families of cousins who lived there. She trusted Christ at 12 years of age through Samuel Greer’s preaching, and was in the Westbank assembly. Married to William McCullough in 1954, they lived in Powell River, BC, until 1965 when the Lord called them to “go north”; they moved to Terrace, BC. They were founding members of the Terrace assembly, faithfully gathering to the Lord’s name and showing hospitality to many. Lois spent her last 10 years in a care home. Predeceased by all her siblings, one son, and two sons-in-law, she is survived by her husband, five daughters, three sons-in-law, 25 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. The service was taken by Daniel Green, followed by John Stutters at the graveside.
Dorothy Stute of Oil Springs, ON, on May 11, 2024, age 96. She was the sister of Fred Stute and the late Leona (Tom) Watson. Dorothy professed faith in Christ Jesus when she was only 13 years old. She was passionate and dedicated in her faith, being a firm and constant advocate of the “old paths.” Dorothy loved psalms, hymns, spiritual songs and poetry, so many of which she committed to memory. She was a devoted mother figure to André Fiset for over 50 years, with whom she had a wonderful and special bond. She was the owner of Beacon Cleaners in Sarnia, ON. In recent years, Dorothy was in happy fellowship at the Oil Springs Gospel Hall until her homecall. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Bonnie Erskine of Waverly, IA, on May 19, 2024, age 84. She married Frank Erskine on March 14, 1958, and spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family. On September 28, 1964, while visiting with the late Leonard Debuhr, she understood from Isaiah 53:5-6 that her sins had been laid on the Lord Jesus. Bonnie was a member of the Antioch assembly in rural Clarksville, IA. She was a faithful prayer warrior, and always wanted others to know the real peace that can only come from trusting Christ as Savior. Bonnie and Frank were a blessing to others over the years, taking many people in to live with them. She is survived by her husband Frank, one son and one daughter and their spouses, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service was taken by family members along with Russ Nesbit.
