Poetry: “Altogether Lovely”

None ever can with Him compare,
For He is fairest of the fair;
No tongue His matchless worth can tell;
He is God’s gift unspeakable.
His head is as the most fine gold,
His Person doth all grace enfold,
His speech distilleth like the dew,
His words of life are ever new.

He is God’s own anointed One,
The Father’s well beloved Son,
The earth-rejected, crucified,
The heaven-accepted, glorified,
The first-begotten from the Head,
With glory, and with honour crowned,
Whose praise the heaven of heavens resounds.
