A good number of Ukrainians attended each night. A light refreshment was served after the meeting, which allowed time to chat, resulting in a number of profitable conversations. Despite no professions of faith during the meetings, there is evidence that the Lord is working. The assembly is continuing their meetings for the Ukrainians on Fridays, along with their English classes.

Deland: In October, the assembly was encouraged by a man who was saved earlier this year obeying the Lord in baptism. He and his wife, a believer, have attended Lord’s Day meetings faithfully, driving an hour each way from their home. Their desire is to be received into the fellowship. The weekly Bible Club continues with several children from the area attending regularly, most who are friends or neighbors of the believers’ children. A meal is prepared by the young mothers of the assembly and the gospel is clearly presented each week. The Lord has blessed with some children professing faith since the start of this work, and they continue to show evidence of spiritual growth in their young lives. The assembly is also encouraged by the interest of a number of families that often attend to observe the breaking of bread and stay for the gospel and the meal prepared every Sunday. The saints continue to look to the Lord for blessing.

West Liberty: Bible classes (not gospel meetings as reported last issue) continue each Sunday afternoon at the West Liberty Community Center as an outreach of the Marion, IA, assembly. The series of children’s meetings September 28-October 9 with local brethren saw around 50 children from the community attending, including several teenagers.

Special Report

Northeast India

A brother from Canada was able to return to this area to help with a four-day conference, held during a national holiday in October. The meetings were attended by believers from 19 assemblies, including some from Nepal. Two assemblies in Kathmandu also met to watch the conference over Zoom. Many of the attendees were young people who were saved while away from home and now face significant persecution from their families. Please pray for them. A recently planted assembly, meeting discreetly in a home, was also visited in West Bengal. Several local workers are labouring in the Darjeeling area and have seen the Lord’s blessing in recent years. Please pray for this area, the growth of these new believers, the workers and these young assemblies.
