Mark gave a detailed report of their labors with the homeless and the progress in the construction of the orphanage. They are laboring in an area of extreme poverty, despair and corruption, which impacts the lives of all, having to live defensively and in fear. But the Lord has blessed and given help in reaching those with responsibility to effectively assist in the legitimate process of securing building permits and reliable laborers for construction. Prayer is requested for their preservation from harm and hostility as they continue ministering to the basic needs of the people and spreading the gospel. They returned to Brazil on June 30.

Michigan

Battle Creek: Venezuela Relief Fund (VRF): Shipments have restarted after a four-week stoppage due to severe gasoline shortages in Venezuela that impeded distribution of the pallets once they arrived in the country. Currently, we have increased the volume of food but have decreased the frequency in an effort to maintain the supply to the needy. Purchase of prescription medications in Colombia, which are carried into Venezuela, are now being funded from the VRF, as well as emergency surgical procedures that are required. Prayers are greatly appreciated in face of the increasing difficulties to reach the farthest corners of the country with food distribution.
