Poetry: My Joy is Found in Thee

My joy is found in Thee alone
Not what this world may give,
For this is not my final home
Merely a place to live.
So, why then do I try my faith
And Live in to the flesh?
Tis foolishness when Jesus saith,
“Come, I will give thee rest.”

My joy is found in Thee alone
Not in my sinful self.
Why then am I th’ important one
And Christ sits on the shelf?
I’m just a human bound by sin
Whom Jesus chose to save
So, what holds me from pleasing Him,
When I know the joy He’ll give?
